Training for early childhood professionals and family support workers to educate parents on burn prevention.
This workshop is designed to give professionals the tools to teach caregivers of young children how to prevent burns – a common, but serious childhood injury.
In Canada, fire and burn related injuries are the third leading cause of injury-related hospital admissions for children birth to four years old. However, 70 per cent of Canadian parents aren’t aware that scalding from hot liquids such as tea and hot tap water, rather than fire, is the most common cause of childhood burn injuries.
