Do you know someone in your organization or in the business community who has made a difference in improving the lives of young children, under the age of 6 and their families in the Tri-Cities? Nominate them today!

The Tri-Cities ECD Committee will honour members of our community who demonstrate a commitment to the future of children at an awards dinner in May 2018.

To Nominate a Champion, please fill out the online nomination form below and include a 200 word testmonial about what this nominee has done to help improve the lives of a child/children under the age of 6 in the Tri-Cities,

Criteria

Individual: Leadership Role

An individual who has dedicated their career to supporting young children and their families.

  • Has influenced others to support early childhood development in their own and outside organizations
  • Has demonstrated a long-term commitment to early childhood development work
  • Demonstrates creativity, innovation and the ability to think outside the box in promoting ECD
  • Goes above and beyond in their job description
  • Not necessarily someone in a traditional "leadership" role eg. Executive Director, CEO etc. (or it could be)

Individual: Direct Service Role

  • Works to engage families with the community.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with children and adults
  • Is innovative and creative in supporting families
  • Goes above and beyond their job description

Volunteer

  • Has invested a significant amount of volunteer time in an ECD program or service
  • Goes above and beyond their job description

Group / Organization

  • Organization places value on personal engagement with families who have young children
  • Relationships with families are caring and include two-way communication
  • Programs provided for young children and their families feature a variety of activities and utilize emergent practices.
  • Program goes above and beyond its mandate
  • There is a sensitivity and value placed on diversity (including but not limited to cultural, gender, special needs etc.)

Business

  • Follows practices that encourage outstanding employee relations-family friendly workplace for staff members
  • Family friendly customer relations are a priority and are deliberately planned and demonstrated
  • Business is connected to the local community and the status of young children in the community
  • Business is connected to the local community through charitable contributions / donations

Individual or Program Working with Children Who Have Extra Support Needs

  • Provides direct service to children and their families who have extra support needs
  • Works to engage families who have extra support needs with the community
  • Has exceptional relationship building skills with children and adults
  • Provides a working environment with families that exemplifies compassion and sensitivity
  • Is innovative and creative in supporting families and responding to their emerging needs
  • Goes above and beyond their job description
